You must be accepted into the game and have logged in to the forum to begin playing.
Please use correct grammar and be conscious of spelling. This helps other players understand you better. Nobody wants to read 'wuts up guyz, how r ur hroses?'
Please be mature and courteous to other players, especially the Admin. Arguing and other immaturity will not be allowed on the boards, and constant need for reprimanding will result in a warning. After more than one warning, you will be banned.
Please be safe: do not share any important real life information with other members of HDC.
Please be sure to register on the community boards using a name, it does not have to be your real name and you do not have to enter a full name, but please do not use stable names or anything other than what you would like to be referred to as.
Advertisement of any other SIMs anywhere within HDC will lead immediate banning.
We reserve the right to ban any member at any time.
Horses: Owning Them
All "playable" horses must be registered with the HDC Registry upon birth or creation, and thus be assigned a registration number, before being considered active.
New players may only own a total of 10 horses; they may create up to 5 horses, and purchase up to 5 horses until they are upgraded to full player status and own a stable.
In your first 10 days on HDC, your horses will be boarded at HDC's Boarding Stables, until they are transferred to your own stable at the 10 day mark.
There is no limit to the amount of horses you may own, but you may only have up to 20 active horses showing at any time. This means all other horses must be retired (retiring does not have to permanent in this situation). Please be reasonable with the amount of horses you own.
If you become inactive and/or are deleted, we reserve the right to
send your horses to the Humane Society.
If your horses are found to be neglected, you will be issued one warning. After that warning, HDC reserves the right to send your horse(s) to the Humane Society in order to find a suitable home, and you will be fined $5,000 per neglected horse.
You may not name your horse after real life/famous horses besides those you own.
Horse Of The Month is a once a month award for popular horses in the game. You may nominate only one of your horses per month to be added to the voting. Voting will be open for 2 days, and at the end of those 2 days, the winner will be announced.
Stables should be sure to purchase the correct amount of feed for all of their horses. You should keep a record on your stable's website of your feed purchases and amount of feed you currently have.
Horses: Breeding Them
A horse may not be bred before age 3.
A horse may not be bred until they have reached titled status, and are at least a Champion.
One real year is equal to one game year, however you may age your horses whenever you please. If your horse has been bred in the game, you are responsible for making sure all ages are updated. You must get the sire and dam's owner's go-ahead and/or age your own horses accordingly in order to keep all ages correct according to the rules.
A mare may only have one foal per year after her 3 year point (i.e. mare was born in 2000, her first foal can be in 2003, second in 2004, and so on). This means foals may be aged at birth (since the mare's first foal would already be 4 years old at the time).
A mare may not give birth to twins unless OK'ed by an Admin as this is very rare in nature.
You may breed as many horses in the game as you wish, within reason.
A horse bred in the game will inherit points, insuring that a great horse also has great offspring. Inherited points range from 15-1,000 points depending upon the level. Both parent's titles are added together. Please see the chart below for a better understanding.
When registering a bred horse, you must list under the registration the number of inherited points or they will not be added.
All horses must eventually have webpages listing all of their information, including registries and point standings, ASAP. It is very important that you keep them up to date, as your members of the game as well as your horse's progeny will depend on this information.
Horses: Showing Them
A horse may not be shown under saddle or in driving events until the age of 2.
Horses may be shown in multiple disciplines, but please stay realistic. A horse may be "retired" from one discipline in order to start up another of a completely different style.
Race horses may not be shown in anything but Halter unless they are retired and 'retrained.' Once a race horse is 'retrained' they may not go back to racing.
Horses may not enter more than 5 shows in one day.
Any member may host a show at any time, and it must be posted about in the calendar, which in turn makes a post on the Upcoming Events board. A member's show may be locked if it is deemed inappropriate until the correct changes have been made.
Horses may only enter up to 12 classes per show. Horses seen entering more than this will be suspended from showing for one week.
HDC's Month End All Discipline Show will be run every month and have all disciplines, as well as award double points.
Entries for shows may be closed between 1 and 5 days. The date entries close must be clearly stated. Shows with longer entry periods will gain more entries.
Results and points links must be posted on the Results board within one week of the date the entries closed, or the host will receive a fine of $10,000.
There are no requirements on owning tack, but please be realistic. Horses should have the correct tack for the discipline in which they are shown.
Horses must be checked by the vet and be issued a negative Coggins, as well as being shod, to be shown.
Horse's with Titles must have their prefixes noted and listed, as these are standings of importance.
Horses may retire at any time, with the exception of horses that have reached the Supreme Champion title at which point they must retire from showing.

Money
Every member starts out with $350,000.
You must keep track of every amount gained and spent in checks. We suggest using Wordpad, Notepad or Microsoft Excel to keep track of your finances. Suggestion: keep a log of checks incoming and outgoing, and total up your grand total amount at the end of each month.
You are able to be awarded quite a bit of money with Active Rewards. This is HDC's way of rewarding you for being active each month. For more information, please click here.
We reserve the right to ask for full bank statements at any time, so please be prepared. It is a good idea to have them posted on your website. It does not have to be anything fancy, just keep track of your numbers.
If you are found to be overspending or cheating, you will be fined $50,000 and be issued a warning. After more than one warning, you will be banned.
Stables, Associations, and Businesses
You must be a member for at least 10 days in order to own any type of establishment.
The proper facilities must be purchased for each establishment. A business establishment is $15,000, and a Stable costs $25,000.
You are able to open a stable at your 10 day mark.
Associations must be announced and voted on (by a yes/no poll) in the Association board. The poll may stay open for a maximum of seven days. Once you receieve a majority of yes votes, you will be approved as the Association owner. If you do not reach a majority of yes's by the end of 7 days, you may again open voting for the Association in one month. You will be expected to have a website completed for the Association within 7 days of being approved, and you must hold an Association show at least once a month thereafter. Associations are on a first come, first serve basis.
HDC reserves the right to change owners of Associations if their previous owners become inactive or are unable to handle the workload.
Businesses must also be voted on (by a yes/no poll) in the Businesses board. You MUST post a website and/or prices and examples (where applicable) with the poll. The poll may stay open for a maximum of seven days. You must have a majority of yes votes within the seven days in order to open your business. If you do not achieve a majority of yes's, you may open the poll for voting again in one month, but you must make significant changes or improvements or your thread will be deleted.
